Another year, another soundtrack project mix. I have a lot of my usual suspects (Beatles, Wire, People Under the Stairs, Rush) and some artists that have followed me since high school (New Order, Simple Minds, Beastie Boys, Rush).
The trend I see is that when I started this project in 2005 my taste in music was pretty much set in stone, and now occasional odd songs, bands, or genres come and go. (Makes me wish I started this project in high school to see more radical changes…or perhaps not?) I still can’t explain why, for example, Smashing Pumpkins makes it on my list for a third time, while Nirvana — somewhat similar in style/genre/decade but clearly the better band — has never made it.
