With both kids going away in different directions for college this year (Amherst, MA and Los Angeles) we needed to choose an album where we could take our photos separately, and this one worked out.

The Go-Go’s: Beauty and the Beat Towels and shaving cream made for an easier job for Jill in the costume department this year. (On the back: “Our gifts are sealed.”)  

Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack Apparently disco is back, but since it’s been about 45 years we added some album wear & tear to this year’s cover. The card’s reverse reads “Stayin’ alive this holiday season!”  

With Amelia at college this year it was a little trickier getting everyone together for a photo, so we split things up into twos to make it a little easier. (Or not, since really it was double the work…) The White Stripes: Elephant   Fleetwood Mac: Rumours

For this year we leaned into the social distancing theme and all went solo: MC Hammer: U Can’t Touch This   Britney Spears: …Baby One More Time   Taylor Swift: 1989   The Clash: London Calling   Beck: Odelay

Since there’s only 3 members we had to figure out a way to get a fourth person in the photo, and Jill as the guitar case ended up being my favorite part.

INXS: Kick For Kick we used the full fold-out album cover to get everybody (and the kids twice). Bad pun on the reverse side: “Need yule tonight.”      

Blondie: Parallel Lines “Enjoy your holidays, one way or another.”

The B-52s: Cosmic Thing “Make the whole shack shimmy this holiday season!” The reverse had photos from our trip to Italy captioned “Rome if you want to.”

Mötley Crüe: Shout at the Devil
