Simpsons creator predicts show's end
"I think we are closer to winding it up," [Matt Groening] says. "Although what happens generally if we win the Emmy for best animation show is that that gives us another couple of years to run it into the ground...I think Fox will wring every last penny out of the show before they call it a day."

I don't know if this says that American, New Yorkers, or hockey fans are complete idiots. Doesn't really matter, though -- things like this embarrass me and give Americans a bad name.

I'm forced to use the world's worst HTML editor, Microsoft FrontPage, for a project at work. I was told that FrontPage 2002 (the latest version) was much better than when I first tried it. It isn't.
I can't believe how bad this program is -- it creates horribly bloated code; undo works sporadically at best; some parts require you to use its crappy WYSIWYG editor (I just want to hand-code to get it right!); customization requires modifying CSS, HTML and themes (and don't get me started on the horrible-even-by-1996-standards design of their themes).
But I'm sure this'll become a worldwide standard program, and people will continue to wonder why computers are so complex. (Reason: you're using the wrong f'in programs!)

It's late April, I have my main garden all planted ... but tonight we're getting about an inch of snow?! Bleah. Luckily it won't be sticking around.

This one's for my uncle who's debating whether to switch from PC to a Mac for the next family computer:
Can a Windows guy learn to love the Mac? You bet!
"On the Mac, the computer just doesn't get in the way of my work as much a PC does. ... Mac is a vastly superior platform for digital movies and photography than stock Windows XP."

Another slight redesign to this site is now live. I basically moved this Rambling text to its own section and off the home page. The reason for this is twofold: First, the search engine didn't work the way I had it (it should work now). And second, I haven't been updating this on a regular basis (and probably won't pick up the pace any time soon), so it won't hurt to "hide" it here. If you really want to read this, you'll find it...

I discovered Bambino's Curse: Diary of a Red Sox Fan over the winter -- of course, not being baseball season, the site was pretty quiet. Now that things are in full swing (bad pun no intended), Bambino's Curse is quite active.
It's amazing (though not at all surprising) to read the completely different tone in the writing following a Sox win or loss. If they win, they're going all the way; if they lose, pack it up -- it's all over. Typical Red Sox fan...
