We were able to get great seats (cheap!) to last night's Ibrahim Ferrer show at the Orpheum in Boston. That was the most fun I've had without understanding a word of what was said. I wish I did, though, 'cause judging by the reaction of those who did understand Spanish, Ibrahim was a pretty funny guy...

The Amazing Crowns will be playing their final show this Friday at Lupo's in Providence. If you're a fan, you should really try to make it there.

What's worse than ESPN's coverage of BMX? MTV. While flipping through the channels yesterday I had the pleasure of coming across MTV's Sports & Music Festival thing. While it's almost always good to see riding on TV, seeing the singer from Sugar Ray and complete tool Carson Daly do dirt jumping commentary was a little too much for me.

Well, after all the hype and excitement, I forgot to watch Iron Chef USA last night. As it turns out, it seems like I didn't miss much. Lesson? Don't mess with a cult classic.

Everyone's playing with the Archive Wayback Machine, and so am I. Before Groove, I worked at MyWay.com, which was previously called Planet Direct ... and here's the PD site circa 1996. Man, things were different back then.
OK, earlier I said I was jealous of Windows 'cause they could use Spinner internet radio. Well, Jeff came to the rescue for me (and all Mac users out there): the no longer publicized Spinner lite. It's got a clunkier interface, but it works!

The Diamondbacks sure do play a mean 8 2/3 innings of baseball.

I'll admit that there is one benefit to Windows: Spinner internet radio. There's a lot of good music stations to choose from (recommended: Classic Punk, Mod Punk, Bop, Hip Hop, Old Skool, New Indie), and they play a good mix of music. (After you listen to the stations on iTunes for a while, you realize that they have a pretty limited playlist.)
This weekend I'm going to try to post photos from the San Diego Zoo, so you'll want to know how to tell an Indian elephant from an African elephant.
