Ramblings

Been downloading from TMBG Unlimited on eMusic.com, and it reminded me of the old Onion article:

They Might Be Giants Behind The Music Episode Lacks Sex, Drugs

The new They Might Be Giants episode of VH1's Behind The Music is devoid of sex and drugs, sources reported Monday. "Man, we haven't had that much trouble finding something juicy since the 'Weird Al' episode," VH1 senior vice-president Bill Flanagan said. "We can almost always hit paydirt with a band's groupies, but in They Might Be Giants' case, they're all 31-year-old computer programmers." The They Might Be Giants episode largely focused on keyboardist/accordionist John Linnell's harrowing early-'90s addiction to Tetris.

Hey now: Liz Phair To Wrap Up Fourth Album Soon. I hope she continues with Whitechocolatespaceegg's quality and doesn't revert back to Whip-Smart...

On the way home from work last night I passed two separate cars with Kiss Army stickers on them. This morning the guy behind me had a Kiss air freshener (wonder what it smells like?) hanging from his rearview mirror. I'm not sure if this means anything...

I'm not a huge fan of the show Jackass -- though it is funny a lot of times. But when stupid kids do stupid things and try to blame it on the show, that's ridiculous. The story correctly points out that:
MTV points out that Jackass has never run a stunt in which someone gets hit by a car. A commercial for a sneaker [Reebok] currently airing nationwide does.

"And what's more, they're brothers as well!" Here's some riding footage of Brian and myself from last weekend. Could this be the beginning of Rabbits 2 filming?

Ugh. The only thing worst than PowerPoint is Visio!

Well, spring is (finally) here in New England, and only a month late! Got a bit sunburned riding yesterday -- typical for me ... I usually burn myself the first time my pale skin sees the sun.

'L'Air Du Tube' Wafts Away Commuter Odors: man, we could've used this on our flight back from Arizona ... the kids sitting in front of us stank.

VH1's 25 Years of Punk was pretty good. The only problem was that it was too short (1 hour) and it didn't go into enough depth. I'm not exactly looking for Ken Burns documentary length, but to spend 30 seconds on Husker Du/Minneapolis, and completely skip Descendents (while talking about Green Day and Blink 182 later) seems kinda wrong.

Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX game (if it ever comes out) will have Jurassic 5 and Deltron 3030 (among others) on the soundtrack ... cool!

Josie and the Pussycats: talk about overdoing product placement!

In music news, I was shocked to hear that Joey Ramone died. The Ramones were easily one of the best punk bands ever.

Also, Frank Black was robbed and was forced to cancel some shows -- thieves stole a bunch of his band's equipment in Pennsylvania.

Well, Jill & I are back from our Arizona vacation last week -- we spent time at the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The weather was unexpected: it never got into the 60's (though it was that warm back home...), and it snowed a couple times while we were out there. But we got some good video and I shot 10 rolls of film, and more importantly we had a great time.

There's a little bio of our friend and ex-New Englander Jared Souney at Ride magazine (where he's Associate Editor). There's a little mention of some of the old NE riders.
